Terms of Service

1. What Lena is. Lena is software from Portage Systems that helps organizations track grants and spending. Lena reads the documents you upload, proposes how to organize them, flags items that may need attention, and drafts notes and messages for you to edit. A human at your organization confirms everything; Lena never files, sends, or decides on her own.
2. What Lena is not. Lena is not a lawyer, accountant, or auditor, and nothing she produces is legal, tax, or accounting advice. Lena does not certify that your organization is compliant with any grant, law, or regulation, and she will not catch every problem. Her flags and suggestions are a starting point for your own judgment and your own professional advisors.
3. Your account. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you upload, for the actions taken in your account, and for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for your organization.
4. Your data is yours. The documents, transactions, and records you put into Lena belong to your organization. We use them only to run the service for you. You can export your records, and you can ask us to delete your organization's data at any time by writing to hello@portage.systems.
5. Acceptable use. Don't use Lena to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to upload malicious code, or to attempt to access another organization's data. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Availability and changes. We work to keep Lena available and improving, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may add, change, or retire features.
7. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Portage Systems is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or funding, arising from your use of Lena. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or $100 if you paid nothing).
8. Ending things. You can stop using Lena and request deletion of your data at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
9. Changes to these terms. If we make meaningful changes, we will post the new terms here and update the date above. Continuing to use Lena after a change means you accept it.
